YAMI GAUTAM ACTOR
Nowadays, actors are constantly trying to take content a notch higher by entertaining while also pushing the boundaries. Yami Gautam and Ayushmann Khurrana, who reunite in the upcoming film Bala, will be seen in yet another entertainment heavy, contentoriented film after their debut film,
2012’s Vicky Donor. Yami says she is proud to be part of films like Vicky
Donor, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and now, Bala.
“I am very happy to do a film like Bala. It’s been a gratifying experience working on this film. I am glad that the focus is on entertainment, and yet, as artistes, we are trying to live up to the responsibility of taking up novel concepts that open up an entire gamut of conversations about ideas and ideologies. The film addresses various social stigmas, and how as humans, we need to love ourselves a little more which we always forget. I am happy that a film like this came my way,” she says.
Talking about her transition as an actor, she adds that she is still learning with each film. “Learning is a lifelong process for an actor and with each movie, every new director, cast, crew, story, and characters, we, as individuals, also grow. For me, today, I strive to do more wholesome roles which I may not have done before. This has been the kind of a year for me where I’ve lived and played parts that I didn’t do before. So, I strive to pursue more varied roles and be part of even more interesting projects,” she concludes.
