#FRIDAYJAM6: BAND, BAAJA AND BANGERS
High-octane performances, bhangra moves and ’gram-worthy selfies — week two of HT Friday Jam 6 was lit
Beats of dhol infused with violin melodies, rhythm of congo drums accentuated by rocking performances by Hindi rock band Rocknaama and DJ Sumit Sethi with his band Buzz Funk, non-stop dancing and more — the party at the second week of Hindustan Times Friday Jam 6 wasn’t like any other.
The four-week-long musical extravaganza’s second week began on a high note. From popular numbers such as Hips Don’t Lie to evergreen retro songs such as Gulabi Aankhen and Dama Dam Mast Qalandar, Rocknaama ensured that everyone grooved along with the band. “It’s Diwali, make some noise and let loose Gurugram,” said vocalist Shaheen Salmani of Rocknaama to a packed amphitheatre.
And Delhi-NCR followed suit with dance moves and echoes of encore. “When I’m on stage, I love to dance. It was wonderful to see people enjoying and especially people of all age groups. Everybody came up with that energy, so we enjoyed a lot,” added Shaheen.
Not just singing, the city danced like there’s no tomorrow when DJ Sumit took to the stage with his band and belted their original number Veera and Bollywood hits such as Aankh Maarey, Angrezi Beat and Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe. “You guys are amazing... mera mann nahin kar raha yahan se jaane ka,” said Sethi addressing the crowd. “Hindustan Times Friday Jam is not just a show, it’s an experience. I got to connect with the crowd and the live audience, especially the youth and people, who love and follow our music. I’m grateful that I’m a musician to have witnessed such a lovely experience. The live jugalbandi with musicians and the crowd was absolutely amazing.”
For the attendees, the event was not only marked by hours of groovy music but also a spot to click Instaworthy selfies. “I loved it; I didn’t expect it to be this amazing. I enjoyed myself throughly here, dancing with my friends,” said Jyoti Goyal, a corporate professional in the city.
We strive to offer remarkable consumer experiences and our collaboration with HT Friday Jam is a testimony to that commitment.
