Ayushmann Khurrana, the serial risk-taker
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is all geared up for his upcoming and most awaited film, Bala.
The story revolves around the actor’s character who is facing premature balding in his life, with hilarious twists added to it. At a time when commercial and masala films are considered to be a safe bet at the box office, Ayushmann has been making gamechanging, bold choices. This was apparent from the film Vicky Donor (2012 ) where the actor chose to debut with a subject that perhaps other actors would have shied away from.
And there was no looking back for the actor who has given some hit performances.
Whether it’s the film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) where he tackled the sensitive subject of erectile dysfunction or the film Dream Girl where he was seen mimicking the voice of a girl, Ayushmann has made the audience laugh with his stellar and unique performances.
With Bala, he has touched upon the taboo topic of baldness. Male pattern baldness happens to be a huge problem in the Indian society and it also contributes to low self-esteem. Apart from entertainment, Bala also delivers a profound message of accepting ourselves.
Speaking about Ayushmann’s movie choices, director Amar Kaushik says, “I have always admired Ayushmann for his bold choices and how he always manages to surprise everyone with his terrific performances. While most actors hesitate doing films on taboo subjects, Ayushmann picks unique scripts for his films and impresses the audience with his versatility. In Bala too, he will be seen in a different avatar, taking the audience on a fun ride.”
Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan present Bala, a Maddock Films production, directed by Amar Kaushik starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam releasing on November 8. Select previews on November 7.
