As a father, I’ve become calmer, says Kunal
Parenthood has completely transformed actor Kunal Kemmu’s life. And whether it is about making decisions about his work or life, the actor says, everything now centres around his twoyear-old daughter Inaaya.
“When people ask me, how life has changed after marriage, I tell them that it is exactly the same. But once you become a parent, life changes completely, right from your routine, your responsibilities, the way you think and the kind of work that you take up — everything is planned keeping Inaaya in mind,” Kunal says.
As a father, he feels he has become calmer and more responsible. “I feel I’m older now and able to articulate things better. I’ve become calmer as a father. A new life is dependent on me and I strongly feel responsible for whatever I do in life and at work now. I’m responsible for how she grows up and the values she inculcates,” says the actor, who was recently seen in Abhishek Varman’s period drama Kalank.
Busy working on his upcoming movie Malang starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor, the actor has made a conscious decision to choose his projects judiciously. “I don’t want to do something which I wouldn’t want my child to see,” Kunal shares.
The 36-year-old actor doesn’t shy away from posting pictures and videos with his daughter. He says these gets more likes and comments than any other post. Both Kunal and his wife actor Soha Ali Khan are hands-on parents. The actor shares, “Soha and I share a happy partnership in this. I love bonding with Inaaya and it is such a great learning experience. I’m still learning. We spend more time with her and take her out to explore new places.”
Kunal also points out that becoming a parent has changed his perspective about his own parents.
“It has helped me understand my parents better and develop a stronger relationship with them, to understand what they were trying to explain to us when we were kids and what they were trying to tell you and how they felt. Parenthood has an effect on all the relationships in your life,” Kunal says.
