A CONCLAVE FOR YOUNG CHANGEMAKERS
VOICES, The Student Conclave, held at Lotus Valley International School (LVIS), Noida, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, centered on the theme of Youth: A Potent Force for Change.
Held recently in the school premises, it was attended by 180 students representing 24 premier schools from Delhi NCR as well as around 350 students from LVIS.
The event was graced by educationist Shayama Chona (Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan), former Ambassador TCA Rangachari, Kathak exponent (Padmashri) Shovana Narayan, author Ankit Fadia, Ashoka University professor Mahesh Rangarajan; CEO, Accuracap Consultancy Services Naresh Gupta; director, government affairs, Salesforce Shweta Rajpal Kohli; stand-up comedian Vasu Primlani; Director General, ICTRC VS Ravindran; assistant professor, IFIM Fathima Raj Kilimas, wing commander Pooja Thakur, Swami Prabuddhananda of Maharshi Ramana Kendra, leading puppeteer Dadi D Pudumjee, and graphic novelist Abhishek Singh.
Shayama Chona in her opening address said, “Today’s youth has the potential to rewrite their destiny”. She urged the students to chase their dreams and vision.
Ruchi Seth, principal of LVIS, Noida, reaffirmed her faith in the youth to find solutions for pressing global challenges. The conclave witnessed engaging discussions and ingenious presentations on a variety of subjects from equity to inclusivity and science to spirituality.
In the valedictory session, actor and youth icon Jimmy Shergill joined the ‘Concerto The Solidarity Manifesto’. He said, “The empowered youth can prove to be the greatest force that drives the world towards success and prosperity.” He further motivated the students by saying “Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability.”
The coveted Best School Trophy was bagged by DPS Sector 45, Gurugram.
