Self-confessed travel junkie Ankit Bathla takes break from work now and then to go on vacations. And the TV actor has the habit of keeping travel tickets as memoirs from his travels.

“My love for collecting travel tickets began when I was in my late teens. I used to travel in trains and buses and I would save tickets whenever we would go for a vacation to keep a track of where I went and how many times. Now as I travel both nationally and internationally, I keep a track by preserving tickets, some of which are quite interesting to look at,” says Ankit, who has collected 4000 tickets, till date.

Ankit says that travelling is important for him because he gets to learn and meet people. He also plans to organise an exhibition of his ticket collection. “Travelling gives you a new edge to life. It gives you an opportunity to meet so many people and understand their culture, broadening your horizons. I would hold an exhibition of my tickets once it reaches the 5000 mark,” says the Thapki Pyar Ki actor.

Ankit wishes to travel to many more places and along with saving tickets, he tries to pick up local culinary skills. “I’ve travelled quite a bit in India and abroad, but there is no limit. My aim is to complete visiting 80% of the world before I die. And visiting a place for me is not just reaching there and moving forward, but to actually experience their culture and food. I attend cookery classes wherever I travel so that I can learn to make the local cuisine. Recently, I was in Turkey and I attended a cooking class to learn Turkish food. It’s so different from how we cook it in India. It is a pleasure to learn something new,”he says.
