Actors Akangsha Rawat and Piyush Sahdev separated in 2017 amid rumours of infidelity
Actor Akangsha Rawat separated from actorhusband Piyush Sahdev in 2017, after being married for five years. Three years later, the actor says she has moved on in life and is focusing on positive things. The only thing she now hopes for is to get divorced at the earliest. The proceedings, however, might take some more time.
With cases of domestic violence and fraud that Rawat had filed in April 2017 still pending in the court, she says, “We haven’t even reached the argument stage yet. Such cases take time. The hearing dates are at least two-three months apart. The wait is long and court rounds are tiring. I have no choice but to be patient. But I’m sure I will get justice.”
Meanwhile, the actor seems to have forgotten and forgiven the wrong doings of her estranged husband, as she asserts she has no hard feelings against Sahdev. “I’ve forgiven him for what he did. I wish him a very happy future and a good life,” says the actor, who is presently a part of two mythological shows.
Asked if she is comfortable collaborating onscreen with Sahdev now, Rawat says, “This is something I’m often asked by production houses when they come to me with a show for which they are considering to cast Piyush as well. And like I tell them, I have no issues working with him. I no longer hold any grudge against him. I don’t want to mix my personal and professional lives.”
While it was initially difficult for Rawat to cope with the situation, she shares that time and experience have had a healing effect. “Whatever happened was quite shocking and for a very long time, it closed me up. It took time to get back to life... my first solo trip to Goa and then recently to Himachal was rejuvenating. It might sound clichéd but right now, I’m only focusing on my work,” she ends.
