Disha and Sanjeev endorse ‘khaas’ apples
Actor Disha Patani and chef Sanjeev Kapoor were recently roped in as ambassadors for Washington Apples, at an event held in the Capital. US Ambassador to India Kenneth I Juster was the guest of honour at the event. Four Washington apple growers Lindsey Morrison, Dave and Karla Robison and James Foreman were also present at the event.
Todd Fryhover, president, Washington Apple Commission, said, “India is a very important market for us. The country has been among the top three markets for the brand for the last few years and is destined for further growth. Our #Washington ApplesKuchhKhaasHai campaign focuses on creating awareness among Indian consumers about Washington Apple varieties, best practices, food safety and the fine growing conditions that exist for apple growing in the state of Washington.”
“The Washington Apple Commission represents 1,260 growers of Washington Apples and the importance of India is reflected in the fact that four of our growers are here to meet with all stakeholders,” he added.
Talking about the #WashingtonApplesKuchh KhaasHai campaign, Disha said, “I am excited to be a part of the campaign. After being convinced that Washington Apples are grown in highly suitable conditions, and are packed and shipped with great care, it was an easy choice to make.”
Sanjeev said, “Healthy snacking is a challenge for most and this brand fits as an anytime snack perfectly.”
Sumit Saran, in-country marketing representative, Washington Apple
Commission, said, “While researching for the perfect face for the brand, we decided it should be someone who represents the youth, is a fitness icon and also someone whose words Indians can trust. What better choice than Disha Patani and Sanjeev Kapoor!”
Washington apples are available across the country with both traditional and modern retailers.
