‘Hope to prove myself and get better work’
He rose to fame with Hichki (2018) and then impressed fans and critics with his performance in last year’s film, The Sky is Pink.
And now actor Rohit Saraf has his hands full with three releases this year – Anurag Basu’s Ludo, his Tamil debut movie - Enge Andha Vaan besides having a web series too in line.
“The year 2019 was a brilliant year for me in terms of the opportunities I got. I’m really hoping that with these three releases, I can prove myself and get better, and more work in 2020,” Rohit says.
While his debut movie Dear Zindagi (2016) highlighted the issue of mental illness, Hichki was based on Tourette syndrome, and his latest, The Sky is Pink was based on the life of late motivational speaker
Aisha Chaudhary, who died at the age of 18 after being diagnosed with a rare disease. Clearly, most of his films have had a message attached to them, and this, he says, hasn’t been a conscious decision.
“Every film that I’ve chosen so far, accidentally or categorically, has had a message. I thought a lot more about it in the last two months when I was on a break from work while shooting for Ludo, it just made so much sense to me. I just want to work on cinema that resonates with people,” shares the 23-year-old.
Movies apart, Rohit also aspires to work on his fitness, something which he feels has been missing from his life. “I want to focus on work and myself. Being a lot more healthy and build my body. That’s something I want to change this year,” the actor says.
