'HOPEFULLY TAIMUR WILL BE SMART, INTELLIGENT, BRIGHT'
For Kareena Kapoor Khan, her son Taimur is a pillar of support who understands her work; adds that everyday, she’s ‘growing with him’
Balancing one’s career and motherhood can be quite tricky and even cause mommy guilt of epic proportions. But actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has motherhood down the pat, ever since she welcomed her son, Taimur Ali Khan with husband, actor Saif Ali Khan in 2016.
“There is really no formula for motherhood,” shares Kareena, who has starred in two films after the birth of her son — Veere Di Wedding (2018) and Good Newwz (2019) besides having projects like Angrezi Medium, Laal Singh Chaddha and Takht.
“I think it’s your own formula and you have to kind of go along with it. It is an experience in itself. For me, it has been a great. It has been a learning experience for me. Everyday, I learn something from Taimur. I am growing along with him. Everyday, I wake up to something new with him, which is amazing,” says the actor on life with her three-year-old son.
And in order to spend quality time with her son, Kareena has taken him along with her on shoots. Taimur recently accompanied her for the shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha, which also stars Aamir Khan.
“I realise that now my time is not my time. I try to balance work and my duties as mother. Taimur went with me to Chandigarh for the shoot. I don’t like to leave him. We (she and Saif) are both busy actors. Even Saif is not at home sometimes, so I take Taimur with me,” she explains.
Kareena says she is very proud of her son for being such a sport about everything. “He is travelling around all over India and the world with us. He has become quite the globetrotter
(laughs). We are leaning on each other, supporting each other. He understands my work and hopefully, he is going up to be Inshallah a smart, intelligent and bright boy. That’s all I can hope for and we are trying to do our best as parents,” the actor says.
While she has aced the work-life balance, Kareena is also making sure that there is a balance of all kinds of films in her kitty. She is dabbling with comedy, drama and period drama. “I have never done just one kind of role. I try to do different films. If there is a period film, then there is also a Laal Singh Chaddha. I am trying to strike a balance between everything. I am an actor and I will dabble in anything,” the actor says.
