Want to play the role of a gangster or a superhero next
Shivin Narang has garnered a major fan following on social media owing to the popularity of the television shows he’s part of. Currently seen in Beyhadh 2 on Sony Entertainment Television, the actor loves what he does, even though a section of the audience feels that TV shows are regressive.
“There is a perception that TV shows are regressive, but the content is picked from the society. The shows are made more for the masses and not really for urban people. It depends on the kind of audience we are serving. The shows that I have done are progressive and, hence, they get a better viewership online than on television,” Shivin opines.
The 29-year-old was all set to debut on the big screen, but the movie will now get an online release. Shivin believes that for an actor, these platforms are great, for pulling people to cinema theatres would soon become difficult. “Due to these platforms, the reach has increased. People can watch what they want at any given time. Movies that don’t do well in theatres end up doing well online. The visibility also increases and it is here to stay. Soon, pulling people to a cinema would be difficult as good content would be available online,” he shares.
Talking about the kind of movies he would like to explore, the actor reveals that a superhero film is what’s on his mind. “I want to do roles I haven’t tried yet. Portraying a superhero or gangster would be a nice surprise. Playing a superhero is a childhood fantasy, so I’d love to do it. Something like Krrish, our Indian superhero,” Shivin signs off.
