#SARTIK INDULGE IN MASTI AND MAZAA
Fun, frolic and fandom was at an all-time high as Love Aaj Kal stars Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, lovingly called Sartik, visited the HT House along with the film’s director Imtiaz Ali, to meet winners of the HT Stars in the City contest. Apart from giving interesting insights about the experience of working in the film , the onscreen couple even danced their way into their fans’ hearts on the film’s chartbuster Haan Main Galat. The actors joined members of b-boying dance group Quest, who left them impressed with their performance. And what preceded this was even more fun as a sporting Sara took on a challenge to lift Kartik in her arms.
Kartik, who was his jovial self, recalled a funny incident about how he bagged this film, “I was shooting for Luka Chuppi (2019) when I got a call from Imtiaz sir and I told everyone that I had to go to the washroom and excused myself to talk to him. I thought our conversation wouldn’t take over 10 minutes. But we eventually spoke for 45 minutes, and the crew members were knocking at the door of my vanity asking if I was well... but woh picture bani nahi. Lekin Love Aaj Kal zaroor ban gayi.”
Imtiaz shared, “I was working on a story around the North East forest for which I had approached Sara and Kartik but fate had something else planned for us.” What pulled him to make a remake of his own eponymous 2009 film? To this, Imtiaz shared that he wanted to contemporise the story. “I was surprised how drastically and dramatically the whole procedure of getting into a romantic relationship has changed.”
For Sara, to be cast in the remake of her father actor, Saif Ali Khan’s movie which also featured Deepika Padukone, was indeed a special opportunity. She shared that her father was “excited and thrilled” that she was getting a chance to work with Imtiaz.
Since the team shot in Delhi for the film, they had some foodie tales to share as well. When a fan asked Sara what she likes the best about the Capital, pat came the reply, “The food! I love Chole Bhature!” The excitement quotient went a notch higher when Kartik was asked what he likes the most about Sara. After giving it a little thought, he said, “Sara gives her 100%, yet she is very effortless and I love her confidence.” Another fan asked Kartik what would be a role for which he would live another day, and he replied, “Jordan from Rockstar (2011).”
Whether it was Jab We Met (2007), Rockstar, Highway (2014) or Tamasha (2015), Imtiaz’s films have shown different manifestations of love. And when a fan asked him about his interpretation of love, he quipped, “You give me your number, I’ll message and tell you when I find it out myself. I’m only searching for love, not telling you what I already know.”
