Dealing with online trolls is a part and parcel of an actor’s life, and with time, most learn to make peace with the good and the bad that gets written about them. Actor Rhea Chakraborty, too, faced this when she was massively trolled, a few years back, after posting intimate pictures with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

Recounting the unpleasant experience, she says, “Initially, I was very affected by it. I was taken aback, thinking, ‘Yeh sab kya hai?’ It was completely baseless,” says Rhea, who even hit back at a few of the trolls.

When it comes to putting her life on social media, the 27year-old, who is reportedly dating actor Sushant Singh Rajput, doesn’t shy away from posting their pictures together and wishing each other on birthdays. While some fans post supportive comments, many take a jibe on such posts. But, Rhea has made a conscious decision to not give attention to the negativity.

“Just ignore them. They’re faceless people without any identity. All they need is your reaction to their comment. If they have a problem, they shouldn’t follow me,” she says.

Having spent seven years in the industry, Rhea has clearly learned the tricks of the trade. So, instead of letting herself get affected by trolls, the Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013) and Sonali Cable (2014) actor likes to focus on work. She will next be seen in Chehre, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.

Asked about what goes in her mind while choosing scripts, Rhea says, “Some people tell me, ‘Jo bhi mil raha hai, kar lo’. But I don’t believe in that because working on a film is like getting married to someone and you have to be fully convinced about it... If I enjoy listening to the narration of the movie, I give my 100% to it. ”
