It’s in Delhi where Aryans recorded their first album in the ’90s
Delhi has produced quite a few musicians who have made a big name for themselves, and KM Sadasivan Nambisan, aka Sadu, is one of the many musicians who have a lot to thank the Capital for.
“Delhi has helped me a lot in shaping my music career in many ways. The crowd has always been very encouraging in our live gigs, especially Delhi University Campus, IIT and AIIMS. The daredevil ‘Go for it’ Delhi attitude is what I am still sustaining with,” says Sadu, the founding member of the popular 90’s pop band Aryans, best remembered for the 1998 song Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra, starring Shahid Kapoor.
The city was, Sadu says, instrumental in the band’s growth as well. “In fact the demos of our first album Aankhon Mein... was recorded at studios in Delhi in 1997. Lot many demos and scratches of the next albums were also recorded in many studios in Delhi thereafter,” says Sadu, who now pursues a career as a solo musician, and recently released his single Hor Kinne.
“Me going solo is a situation born out of destiny’s will. Our USP as Aryans was hummable melodies and good lyrics. I stuck to that inheritance and have arranged those melodies in sync with the latest sound techniques. I have received lots of compliments, too,” he says.
