She is just one film old in Bollywood and her second project is yet to see the light of the day, but Ihana Dhillon isn’t dwelling much on it. In fact , the actor is looking forward to her next, Bhuj: The Pride of India, which will see her share the screen with the likes of actors Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Ammy Virk.

Talking about the challenges she has faced so far, Dhillon says, “I haven’t got any chance to do something very performance-oriented. I want to be challenged... People see your past work and then offer you work.”

The actor made her Hindi film debut with the erotic thriller, Hate Story 4 (2018). She goes on to add that challenges exist in every industry, but if one has talent, they get their due sooner or later.

“When you don’t have anyone to guide you in the industry, the struggle is greater. But patience is the key and you have to be clear in your mind as to what you need here,” she adds.

Bhuj is also Dhillon’s first big film, so was the wait worth it? “It has a huge budget and a huge scale. I’m obliged to the makers that they chose me for this character. It was worth it to wait for this movie after Hate Story 4. If I had done a lot of other movies after my debut, maybe I wouldn’t have been chosen for this,” she shares.

The 30-year-old, who started her acting career with Punjabi films, is ready to give her best to survive in Bollywood and push the boundary with her choices. “I don’t have targets like being number one or something. I’m an artiste and want to do some amazing characters. People should remember my work and get entertained,” she adds.

Asked if Punjabi films will take a back seat now, Dhillon says, “I belong to Punjab. I started my career there. I’m never leaving my roots and will work in both Hindi and Punjabi film industries.”
