Keep spark alive in your relationship with these tips
It’s been more than 100 days that we have been staying indoors due to the pandemic and only stepping out for essentials. For all those lovestruck couples, dating during these times would have been really tough and some may have also felt that the spark and zest in their relationship somehow faded, because they were in contact with one another only through phone calls, messages and video calls. No matter what you may say, nothing can replace the feeling of meeting in person, in comparison to connecting with your love interest virtually.
With restaurants and malls slowly opening up, lovers are gradually stepping out to spend some time with each other while shopping, eating and trying to work around their relationship. Experts share tips to spice up those relationships that somehow fizzled out because the couples couldn’t meet in person due to the lockdown.
Try virtual activities together to make your interactions feel real:
Even when you are conversing over a video call, assign a fun task to your partner on alternate days. You can learn to cook something together or try couple workout sessions over video calls.
Surprise your partner with gifts that hold some relevance for them:
Nothing stops you from getting your partner’s favourite book delivered at his or her doorstep. These gestures will bring a smile on your partner’s face and the compassion and liking would increase further, if meeting in person is still not possible for you two.
Be spontaneous: Just make some decisions about meeting spontaneously without thinking over it. For example, if you guys are living in close proximity, why not go out cycling together? A lot of people have taken to cycling these days, with all necessary precautions in place. This will give the two of you more time to spend together, if you guys are not sure about going to a mall or restaurant. Consistency in the relationship: There might be so many thoughts that would be bothering you two because of the current crisis. No matter how much these negative thoughts bother you, it is very important to maintain that consistency in your relationship. It can’t be that one day, you’re showering your partner with love and the next day, you keep it subtle. Balancing this is very important.
Say what you feel: For the relationship to prosper during these times, it is also important for one to express their true feelings to their partner without hesitating. Expressing emotions to each other is a clear way of bringing two people together and strengthening the bond between them.
