As India continues its fight against Covid-19, people have come forward to support those in need. Usha Shriram Enterprises set up kitchens to distribute food to daily wagers, slum dwellers and rickshaw pullers. Satnam Singh Sandhu, executive director, says, “We distributed packed food to almost 500 people everyday for around 70 days near Naraina, Delhi. We tried our best to ease the distress in the lockdown.” Kudos to the efforts!

REUNITED AFTER 10 YEARS
In a heartwarming tale, a cat and his human were recently reunited, after almost 10 years. The cat, named Hobbs, got away from his owner, Frances Lommen in 2011, who had assumed that “he had passed or gone to greener places”. Hobbs was found 25km from home, by a person who called the Lincoln County Humane Society, Ontario, Canada, a charitable organisation. A microchip attached to the collar of Hobbes helped them reunite him with his owner.

Parmeshwar, a 17-year-old who lives with nine people crammed in two rooms, in a tightly packed Delhi slum, recently scored a stunning 91.7% in his Class XII CBSE exams. The boy had taken up washing cars at Khanpur since Class X, to earn a livelihood. He made ₹3,000 a month with which he paid for his uniform and books. But nothing stopped him from studying and making his dreams come true.
