Rest in power: Hollywood celebs pay tribute to Chadwick

As the Black Panther (2018) actor Chadwick Boseman passed away on Saturday, several Hollywood celebritie­s mourned the demise of the 43year-old.

The actor had been battling cancer for four years. “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said in the statement.

Hollywood celebritie­s including Halle Berry and Jada Pinkett Smith expressed grief over actor’s demise.

“Rest In Peace,” Smith wrote on Instagram. “Here’s to an incredible man with immeasurab­le talent, who leaned all the way into life regardless of his personal battle behind the scenes,” wrote Berry, and pointed it as a reminder of how one may never know what people around them are going through. “Treat them with kindness and cherish every minute you have together. RIP #ChadwickBo­seman,” she added.

Aquaman (2018) star Jason Momoa posted a picture of Boseman on Instagram and wrote: “All my aloha and condolence­s to his ohana. I am truly gutted. what a wonderful spirit. I'm so sorry RIP.”

Expressing his condolence­s, Nia DaCosta tweeted, “I will miss waiting to see what he does next. Rest in power,” while Jordan Peele wrote, “This is a crushing blow.”

“Hard to hear about this. Rest in love, brother. Thank you for shining your light and sharing your talent with the world. My love and strength to your family,” Dwayne Johnson wrote on Twitter.

Mark Ruffalo, Boseman’s costar in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), tweeted, “What a man, and what an immense talent. Brother, you were one of the all time greats and your greatness was only beginning. Lord love ya. Rest in power, King.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, termed it an ‘immeasurab­le loss. “From Black Panther to Da 5 Bloods, Chadwick brought strength and light to the screen, every time,” the organisati­on tweeted.

Feeling at a loss for words, Boseman’s Black Panther co-star Sterling K Brown, said, “Rest In Peace, Bruh. Thank you for all you did while you were here. Thank you for being a friend. You’re loved.

You will be missed.”
