Not destination, but the journey matters
What’s life? Two words that form not just a sentence, but a never-ending tale because no one moment or incident can complete what we feel throughout our lives. May be a moment can redefine the future course of our living, but who says life ever goes as per the plan...?
Nitin, the protagonist of author Sushant Changotra’s book, I Know You Now, is yet another soul on this planet who decides to dictate life the way he wishes. But, like always, destiny has different plans for him. His grief of losing his mother, an irreparable relationship with his father, and a chance meeting with a fatherly figure on a train, triggers him to pursue what his heart desires, and not what is mostly dictated/ expected. Certainly, missing admission in an engineering college and pursuing his dream of becoming a singer would appear outrightly foolish to any conventional mind. But ‘dig deep within’ and as you read this 166-pager, you will be left questioning: Did I make the right choices in life?
Well, the question here is if Nitin is making the right moves. The answer does unravel in this story, which reads like it’s written in one breath! The uncomplicated language and linear flow of narration will encourage you to keep reading. But in the end, one wonders where was the start, and what has it come to. Well, that’s where Changotra nudges to tell you in so many words: It’s not about where you’ve reached, but how far you’ve come.
