WITH CHANGING TIMES AND SERIOUS SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, REMOTE WORKING IS EMERGING AS A TREND AND THIS CONCEPT VEHICLE AIMS TO TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL

At a time when the whole world is increasingly working remotely due to Covid-19 restrictions, Nissan Motor’s latest concept car takes this trend to a whole new level. At the virtual 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Japanese carmaker unveiled the NV350 Office Pod Concept, based on its NV350 Caravan. The van has been customised to allow individuals to work from any destination. In fact, the versatile vehicle can handle all types of terrains.

The Pod concept is an ideal vehicle for professionals who love to travel and stay outdoors while not wanting to compromise on work. The business van features front and rear over fenders and body graphics on the outside, giving it a complete officelike look. Step inside and there is an office stored within the van. A desk, a chair and a desktop computer from Herman Miller have been neatly fitted at the back of the caravan. The office paraphernalia can easily slide out of the back door of the van, allowing one to enjoy the view outside while working when it gets boring inside. A transparent panel on the floor of the office will ensure that users do not lose connection when working outside.

A couple of steps can be placed next to the sliding door of the van, making it easier to get in and out of the Office Pod. There is also a kettle for tea or coffee, making the space comfortable for working in every way.

How about lunch breaks though? Nissan has thought about that too. There is a luxurious roof balcony that can be accessed from the van room so that one can relax between work breaks. Once all the work or relaxing is done, all one needs to do is pack up and hit the road.
