The Covid-19 pandemic has snatched away the livelihoods of many people, making survival difficult. Actor Pranitha Subhash distributed ration kits to 100 makeup artists of the Kannada film industry. Taking to Instagram, she expressed how she took all social distancing protocols while distributing the kits. Kudos to her efforts!
2 HAPPY DANCE
To mark one year of operations at the Nesco Covid19 centre in Goregaon, Mumbai, healthcare workers showed off some peppy dance moves. Captured in a video, the healthcare professionals clad in PPE kits can be seen dancing inside the patients’ ward during an entertainment initiative. Moments like these are a ray of hope in the dark.
3 NO CHILD’S PLAY
Three-year-old Lipavi from Nagaland realised she had cold symptoms and immediately went to a health centre for a checkup all by herself, as her parents had left for the paddy fields. Her story has gone viral with social media users praising the little girl for being so responsible in time when even adults are reluctant to get themselves tested.
4 MAN ON A MISSION
No words can express the grief of losing a mother. But Altaf Peer, whose mother died to Covid-19 turned his grief into action. He started serving food to the patients of a government hospital at Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, with the help of the members of a youth club. What an inspiration for others who are making their way down the same road!
5 A THOUGHTFUL INITIATIVE
The Delhi Police is reaching out to families of officers who died due to Covid-19 and taking cognisance of the bereaved families. Recently, they visited Pooja Rana, wife of the late constable Amit Rana. Payment of insurance, grant of compassionate appointment to eligible next of kin are a part of the policy.
6 MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Moved by the plight of the villagers, who don’t have any medical supplies, a group of girls from the Capital, sisters Arsheen and Surveen Singh and friends Prisha Gandhi and Auorra Uban have been distributing medical kits, consisting of a thermometer, an oximeter and medicines, to Rangpuri, Jhandewalan, Sindhi Basti and Lal Gumbad in Delhi.
