FEEDING INDIA
Realising the agony of jobless migrant workers, maids, garbage collectors and rickshaw drivers, Harsh and his mother Heena Mandavia from Mumbai started giving free meals to these faceless humans. In the second wave of Covid-19, they have distributed over 22,000 meals, 55,000 rotis and 6,000 homemade sweets.
AN INSPIRING JOURNEY
Raj, a man with modest means was unable to study after 9th grade, and took to plying an auto rickshaw in Jaipur. Realising the importance of language in interacting with tourists, he learnt English and fell in love with a French woman, whom he married. He now lives in Switzerland, where he works at a restaurant and hopes to open his own one day.
A THOUGHTFUL GESTURE
In a heartwarming gesture, Munmun Sarkar from Siliguri, West Bengal, the first woman e-rickshaw driver in the state, has been ferrying Covid-19 patients in her vehicle. Her service, which is available 24*7, has been welcomed by patients who couldn’t afford high transportation costs.

The parents of 3-year-old Ayaansh who suffers from a rare disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), mobilised ₹16 crore through a crowd-funding initiative to buy eight vials of Zolgensma, the world’s most expensive medicine, to be administered to their child.

In a heartwarming gesture, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava helped Kuldeep, who pleaded for help on Twitter from Punjab. His father had died owing to Covid-19 and his family was finding it tough to make ends meet, the Delhi Police promised ₹10K to the family to ride over the crisis on their return to Delhi.
A THEME PARK IN THE OFFING
Keeping in mind adventure, mythology, education and entertainment, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is planning to set up a mythological theme park near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district. It aims to increase economic activity and generate local employment.
