The road to complete transition to electric mobility is still a long way to go but this shift has already started in India with electric two-wheelers driving at the front line. With various startups joining the bandwagon as well as establishe­d players producing electric offerings, the competitio­n in electric scooter space, particular­ly, is heating up. And competitio­n is good as it leaves customers with a plethora of options to choose from, while also propelling the push towards mass adoption of electric vehicles. While an ideal electric scooter should be a combinatio­n of all the right elements, the single charge range of the vehicle definitely becomes a major concern. Here are some of the electric scooters available in the Indian market with the longest range on single charge.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro (181km)

Ola Electric launched its much-awaited batterypow­ered offering, S1, in India earlier this month. The scooter has been introduced in two configurat­ions — S1 and S1 Pro. While the former is the base variant with a range of 121km, the latter is the higher-spec trim that claims to have 181km of range on a single charge.

Odysse Hawk Plus (170km)

EV startup Odysse currently has a limited reach in only select Indian cities and its electric vehicle portfolio comprises four products. Of these, the Odysse Hawk Plus outshines the others with its claimed range of 170km on single full charge. The company also claims that the e-scooter can be charged within four hours.

Hero Electric Nyx HX (165km)

Hero Electric has a wide array of e-scooters in its portfolio. The Electric Nyx HX is one of its slow speed offerings with the longest singlechar­ge range of 165km from its 51.2V/30Ah dual batteries. Hero Electric aims to achieve 100% growth in 2021 over last year.

Okinawa i-Praise+ (139km)

EV maker Okinawa focuses on developing e-scooters for both personal and commercial purposes. Its i-Praise+ battery-powered scooter is rated to deliver 139km of range on a single charge. The scooter packs a 3.3kWh lithium-ion battery that juices up the 1kW BLDC motor.

Bajaj Chetak Electric (90km)

The Chetak scooter, that is capable of delivering a range of 90km on a single charge in

Eco mode, marked its return as an electric vehicle a year ago. Since then, the Punebased two-wheeler maker has been witnessing huge demand for its e-scooter in several select Indian cities. The scooter runs on a 3.8kW motor that sources charge from a nonremovab­le 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack.
