- VIDISHA YASHASWINI Mehak Talwar htcity@hindustantimes.com

In school, I was mostly academicsoriented. That is why, I want to pursue extracurricular activities in college — be it singing, dancing or fashion! I want to join Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and I hope to balance studies and social life. Rockstar (2011) portrays the college life of my dreams! I want to sing under a banyan tree or have friends like Jordan (Ranbir Kapoor’s character). If even a little bit of the movie comes to life, it’d be a dream come true for me!

PHULMANI MURMU

I watched Student of the Year (2012) years ago, and one thing I always think about is Prom Night. Does it really happen in Delhi University colleges? If not, I blame Bollywood for showing us unrealistic things. According to movies, there is no studying, only chilling! I aspire to attend SRCC and I look forward to going to fests, joining clubs, partying with friends as shown in movies and, of course, studying hard to pass the exams.

KALPITA RATNASHREE

TFor me, college life is somewhere he pandemic, while bringing life to a between fantasy and freedom. I standstill, could not dampen the spirit of feel, Chhichhore (2019) depicted those seeking admission to Delhi the vibrancy of college life for any University (DU). As they wait for cut-offs, 18-year-old biting their nails and youngsters hope for an offline varsity life. In such jumping with hopes. I hope to get unpredictable times, Bollywood films allow them into Miranda House or Lady Shri a vicarious college experience. “Badi gadiyaan, Ram College (LSR). When I land at Salman Khan wali jean pant, ladki dost, life set DU, I want to bunk classes, have hai,” says Choocha from Fukrey (2013). Read on, fun at food stalls and tease as these enthusiastic aspirants reveal the campus friends about their crushes. I pray life of their dreams: be it having confidantes like for offline classes so I can find my Sexa (Chhichhore; 2019) or partying like Rohan Chhichhore gang and make a and Shanaya (Student of the Year; 2012)! bunch of polaroid memories!

ABHIGYA RANA

Due to the pandemic, I could not experience the final years of my school life. I wish to join Hindu College or LSR, and I hope to meet people from across India! For me, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) portrays a fun college life, including hostel friends. The opening scenes of the Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharmastarrer are realistic and beautiful. I think they fully capture the essence of being a Delhi University student!

ADITI SINGH

Half Girlfriend (2017) fascinated me about campus experience. The foggy mornings, the atmosphere and colonial era building of St. Stephen’s were wonderfully shot and now it’s my dream college! I found Riya’s (Shraddha Kapoor’s character) communication skills astounding! Due to the pandemic, I could not enjoy my 11th and 12th standards, especially the farewell. I missed my teachers a lot. So, I want college life to fulfil these dreams and create memories.

SREEPRIYA PARIDA

From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) to Chhichhore, college life in my fantasy is fun, where you get to gain name, fame and friends. The picturisation of the song Rabba from Fukrey (2013) depicts college life for me! However, at the end of the day, when you get the reality check, you come across the tougher side of college — rooms piled high with books and coffee cups to give you the energy to catch up with the syllabus! I hope I can get into any DU college!
