avin Dave-led web series, 110, released recently, marking his collaboration with filmmaker Abhishek Jain after seven years. While he has played supporting roles in Hindi and Gujarati films as well as web series, 110 marks the actor’s debut as the lead of a series.

“I am excited, since it is a story about an ordinary guy who wants to achieve extraordinary things. It is a light-hearted, slice-of-life series,” the actor tells us.

Dave goes on to reveal that Jain, while writing the story of the series, already had him in mind for the lead part. “When Abhishek was writing the story, he told me he wants me as the lead, and he will drop the story if I don’t work on it. When the idea was conceived, he had me in my mind, and that gave me a lot of confidence,” he admits.

The story of 110 revolves around an overweight man. But, according to the actor, the series also talks about other issues one faces in life. “The weight is just one issue. The series is spread over 10 years. It starts with Falgun aged around 25 and ends when he’s 35 years old. It has four episodes with a leap of two-three years,” he shares.

Having now worked as a lead in films and web series, does he see any stark difference between the two? “The only difference is budgets are a little tight, in regional web series. They don’t have budgets like a Hindi or Gujarati film. Hard work is the same, nonetheless,” he observes.

Meanwhile, Dave is awaiting the release of his Gujarati film alongside actor Pratik Gandhi, which was shot last year. He will also be seen as the parallel lead in a comedy film that is slated to release next month.
