juhi.chakraborty@htlive.com ith the Covid-19 infection rates going lower and vaccination coverage increasing, the festive season this year is going to be slightly better than the last one, feels singer Daler Mehndi.

However, the Bolo Ta Ra Ra hitmaker is quick to add that people should still tread with caution and celebrate festivals in an intimate manner. “Just celebrate at home. It is not necessary that you go out and hurdang machaao. You can do pooja at home and that is a really nice feeling. We should just thank God that we all are alive and celebrate the festivities,” he says.

The singer urges everyone to take all precautions in order to win this battle against Covid-19. “It’s about being cautious. We’d not make the situation worse. Rather do our best to make it better. We all hope that the bad time is over and now things will only look up. Aage toh sab achha hain,” says the Tunak Tunak Tun singer, adding, “We must celebrate the fact that we’re safe.”

On the work front, Mehndi, 54. is hopeful for live show industry to return on track, with more people getting fully vaccinated now. “Vaccine leke hum sahi direction mein jaa rahe hain. Work has started. It is a big positive for musicians because we get to do live shows now, which is a huge part of our livelihood,” he says, adding, “Concerts have started happening. Bus umeed honi chahiye. Save the energy and stay positive.”
