Overeating? Follow these tips to keep your

o you ever find yourself losing self-control while overindulg­ing in your favourite food, and then regretting immediatel­y after? We’ve all been there. Bingeing or overeating can majorly derail your diet and can cause stomach issues.

A study published in the American Journal of Physiology: Endocrinol­ogy and Metabolism says that though overeating occasional­ly doesn’t cause any side effects, but if done regularly, it can affect your weight, fat concentrat­ion, digestion, and even blood sugar levels.

So here are some tips to help better your digestive system. Give ajwain remedy a try

If there is a one-stop solution for all stomach problems, it is ajwain. If you struggle with indigestio­n, just crush ajwain, black salt and ginger together and have it after your meal.

Drink peppermint tea

AS TEMPTING AS IT MAY BE, LYING DOWN OR GOING TO SLEEP RIGHT AFTER EATING CAN CAUSE REFLUX AND SLOW DIGESTION.

If your stomach is causing you trouble, sip on peppermint tea. It can help relax the digestive tract, so you don’t feel bloated. Although you may feel full to the brim, eating some yogurt can help. It can ease all kinds of stomach woes caused by overeating. Ideally, choose organic fresh plain yogurt. Cold milk for acidity Overindulg­ing sometimes can lead to acidity. And if that happens to you, drinking cold milk is one of the simplest home remedies to combat it. Try the watermelon magic Watermelon is an effective fruit to help in digestion after overindulg­ing in your favourite meal. It’s hydrating, has antibacter­ial properties, and the vitamins and minerals can help manage your stomach issues after a binge.

Avoid nap after meals

As tempting as it may be, don’t lie down or go to sleep.

Stay upright until your food has had time to settle.

Take a walk

An easy stroll will help stimulate your digestion and even out your blood sugar levels. So, take a walk but avoid running or jogging.
