‘I have given my all to acting’

- S Farah Rizvi

Where I am today [in my career], I feel I am swiftly inching closer to what I once dreamt of. AASHISH BHARDHWAJ,

He has faced his share of hardships, but actor-model Aashish Bhardhwaj doesn’t want to label it a ‘struggle’, for he feels it is all a part of the learning process.

“I’ve always felt there is no such term like struggle, especially for an artiste, because it’s more of a process of learning and polishing one’s craft. Why tag one’s effort and hard work as something that brings along an unenthusiastic approach to life?” he wonders.

Looking back at his journey in the entertainment space so far, Bhardhwaj says he is more than happy with his achievements. “This is the profession I have given my all to, and where I am today [in my career], I feel I’m swiftly inching closer to what I once dreamt of,” gushes the Kasautii Zindagii Kay actor.

Bhardhwaj is elated that finally makers are considering him for lead roles now. “I am absolutely thrilled to have bagged a show as a protagonist, because I knew I was ready to carry a show on my own. For now, all my focus is on my new lighthearted family show, which will see me play an enthusiastic youngster. Being on the right track now, I am hopeful that things will fall in place with each passing day,” says Bhardhwaj, who has been a part of a theatre group in Delhi and done a number of TV commercials, as well.

A native of Khatauli, near Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), the actor is glad that so many projects are based on his home state, including web shows Mirzapur. “It is amazing how almost all big and small cities are playing an important part on TV, OTT as well as films; look at how many films are being shot there. And I am happy that my character and the story (of his new show) are also set in UP,” he says, adding that this can provide a platform for aspiring actors from the state.
