AI AND TECH GIVING CONVENTIONAL CLASSES AN EDGE!

Since its launch in February 2021, Cyboard School has been offering world-class education to students across the country

Samira Thanveer, mother of a 10-year-old, says, “My daughter, Maryam, is now a changed person.” Her child joined the Cyboard School, that offers online classes for the new academic session from her home in Kerala. “She’s more confident, has a better understanding of concepts and, above all, enjoys her studies because of the way they are being taught at Cyboard.”

Believing that every child is unique, the school offers individualised learning plans. “We understand that each student performs differently in different subjects. Hence, we offer a curriculum that is unique, and caters to the individual needs and capacity of each child,” says Kunal Singhal, co-founder and CTO of Cyboard School.

For this, Singhal says the school believes that using Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the only way for the system to identify and decide which student is lagging behind in which topic of a subject. “This is of great help, as such a level of in-depth assessment is not always possible in physical schooling. AI helps students in collective participation, collaborative studies, 3D visualisation for certain topics, virtual reality, etc. All these developments help in taking the quality and impact of online education far ahead of conventional classes,” he adds.

With a growing number of parents evincing interest in what the school provides, it is already offering classes for children from nursery to grade VI. Following the CBSE curriculum, the Cyboard school scores over conventional schools by making world-class quality education accessible to children in all parts of the country – not just to those in tier I cities, but also in tier II and tier III towns.

MAKING EDUCATION ENJOYABLE

What makes the school score over these others is that it ensures education becomes an enjoyable affair for its students. “Earlier, my daughter would always return home exhausted from school. Here, after her online classes, she has time to rest, do her homework and then go out to play in the evening,” informs Thanveer.

Leaving enough quality time after school hours for each child too is something that the school takes seriously. This has been made possible because of its thorough and new teaching methods and style, which includes live interactive classes, that are made even more interesting by its talented group of teachers. These teachers understand that each child is different and comes with varying levels of learning. That is why they give customised assignments to students as per their skills and abilities, while encouraging them to constantly improve and better themselves.

Helping teachers ensure that students pay attention in class is Cyboard’s intuitive tech platform. This AI-driven tech initiative keeps a check on students in class with the help of its facial recognition and body-language tracking system.

Another advantage of the AI technology is its ability to monitor body movement, and gauge the students’ levels of understanding and focus. This is something that teachers of regular schools are often unable to do as they cannot keep a check on whether each and every student is paying attention in class or not. But here, AI is a big help and comes to the rescue of not just teachers, but also students!

PLATFORM FOR PARTICIPATION

In a bid to make classes enjoyable, students are encouraged to participate in diverse activities such as class quizzes, both individually as well as simultaneously. This makes these sessions not just enjoyable, but also increases the competitive spirit among children.

With the help of the AI/ Machine learning (ML) tech platform, we are able to isolate each student’s answer, based on his or her voice and convert it into a text form for the system to assess it. This gives the students immediate feedback and encourages them to improve.

Helping make the classroom more interactive is an AI assistant who is part of each session with two teachers — master teacher and assistant teacher. The former, being a subject matter expert, takes live classes for each subject while integrating textbooks, video content and inter-activities. The latter helps solve individual queries and provides concept clarity too, so that no student misses out on anything.

Meanwhile, the school’s advanced AI creates a learning curve and a lesson plan for each student, complete with assignments and teaching aids. This is created by analysing the students’ learning habits over time – a process that is also known as ‘machine learning’. It ensures a comprehensive teaching-learning process that is tailored to the needs of each student. Cumulative and formative workshops are held every few weeks, followed by online assessments and tests. These help provide the teachers with an analysis of the approaches used to teach concepts, based on which the assistant teacher schedules doubt-solving sessions and even extra classes for students.
