I’ve no acting plans, happy singing
I wanted this to trend start (of musicians more protagonists playing videos). in So, I music a underwent physical transformation. RAHUL VAIDYA, Singer
Singer Rahul Vaidya’s music career has been cruising along well. Having done shows such as Bigg Boss and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi last year, we wonder if he harbours acting aspirations, too. Replying in the negative, Vaidya says, “Acting offers come to me often, but I am very happy singing. I think I do not want to deviate and do anything else.”
But the 34-year-old admits that he likes to feature in the music videos of his songs. And for that, Vaidya understands that he needs to maintain himself and look good on screen. He says that until recently, that was never expected from singers, as only actors would feature in music videos.
“I wanted to start this trend (of more musicians playing protagonists in music videos). So,
I underwent a physical transformation. Why not be the trendsetter? The times are changing,” says Vaidya.
Apart from releasing independent music, the singer also performs at a lot of live shows. While the live events scene got back on track only recently, post a two-year lull due to the pandemic, the number of Covid-19 cases have started soaring again. Does his wife, actor Disha Parmar, or family express apprehensions about him performing live in the current scenario? “It’s work, why will anybody be uncomfortable? Tomorrow, if Disha has to go for a shoot, there is no question of being comfortable or uncomfortable. I do about eight to 10 live shows in a month. They keep me busy. People think I [only] do reality shows and stuff like that, but the most amount of my time is occupied by live shows,” the Yaad
singer ends.
