After three back-toback successful shows in his kitty, Jamtara actor Anshumaan Pushkar is in a happy phase. But he is hungry for more.

Currently shooting for his first feature film, Pushkar says, “I still won’t be able to say that I am satisfied! Yes, I have started getting good work and I am gaining good experiences... Now I want the canvas to become bigger and reach a wider audience. That can happen with films and mega production shows.”

Talking about the growth from his debut show to its sequel, he says, “When we shot for Jamtara, most of us were newcomers. But now that the second season has been shot, all the actors are popular and the scale of the show is bigger. I am getting project options that I can choose from. The film for which I’m currently shooting, I was their first choice and the makers waited for four months for my dates. This makes me content.”

The actor’s filmography also includes Grahan, Country Mafia, Kathmandu Connection and Gandii Baat.

Talking about working big names in the industry, he shares, “I shot for filmmaker Shashank Rai’s Country Mafia, which also stars Ravi Kishan, Soundarya Sharma and Satish Kaushik. Currently, I am shooting for Hari Om Hari with stalwarts like actors Ranvir Shorey, Vijay Raaz and Mukesh Tiwari.” And he’s also trying to do comedy. “It is for the first time that I am trying my hand in the comedy genre,” he adds.

On the subject of the pandemic affecting his work, Pushkar tells us, “Technically, this is going to be my feature film debut. There were projects that were final or were about to start, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, things could not work out. A film that was about to start has been now shelved. I was about to start shooting twice for Ishq Chakallas near Gwalior and few days in Lucknow, but this project is also now on hold.

Now, we hope to start it in June.”

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old actor is scheduled to shoot for the sequel of Kathmandu Connection in Mumbai, followed by locations in Agra and Lucknow, as well as Nepal.
