The three-day annual cultural festival of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Anugoonj 2023, ended on a rocking note as singersongwriter Armaan Malik performed on the last day. The students were left starstruck as he belted out his popular tracks.
Excited youth from all affiliated colleges turned out in huge numbers to participate and witness the high-octane performances as the fest returned after the pandemic pause. Hemank Aggarwal, a third-year journalism student at a Delhibased college, shares, “It happened after two long years. I was waiting for it since the day I joined the college!”
ARMAANIANS COULDN’T
KEEP CALM!
Students went all out to show their love to Malik with flashlights, placards and loud cheers. On his part, the singer opened the night with the hit Main Hoon Hero Tera (Hero, 2015). Nishika Verma, a second-year BBA student at a Delhi-based college, who made a special poster for Malik, shares, “I put my heart and soul into making a placard, so the man of my dreams takes notice.”
The night only got better as Malik performed chartbusters like Besabriyaan, Kaun Tujhe (both M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, 2016), Pehla Pyaar (Kabir Singh, 2019), and singles like Tu/You (2022), among others.
STEPPING UP WITH STREET BEATS
The starry night wasn’t the only attraction of the fest. The first day had the crowd
grooving to peppy numbers by Sukh-E and DJ Ravator. The street dance competition also saw some talented dance-offs. Talking about it, Dheeraj Rawal, a first-year engineering student at the University School of Biotechnology, says, “The students looked like professional dancers. The lifts and moves were mindblowing.”
The extravaganza also had competitions for street play, folk dance, singing and debating.
