As actor Pavail Gulati gears up towards working on his first action film, he is particularly excited to work with his idol Shahid Kapoor. Gulati, known for his versatile performances in I Love You (2023) and Dobaaraa (2022), will star alongside Kapoor in their upcoming film Deva.
“Working alongside Shahid has been an absolute delight,” says Gulati, adding, “We’ve found common ground in our shared interests, particularly in fitness and health-related discussions. It’s incredible to collaborate with someone, who not only shares similar passions but also brings immense dedication to the craft”.
Talking about his admiration for Kapoor, he says, “I was a child when he was first launched into the
Actor industry with a romantic film. I remember, when I saw the poster of his film, I told my mum that ‘someday I am going to be there’ (make it as big as Kapoor). He is one of the many reasons for me to become an actor.”
He continues,“Now, I am so glad that I got a chance to work with someone as inspiring as him. He has been in the industry for so long, and is nothing but kind to me on set. I am his fan, and now I hope we can also be friends.”
The actor, who is set to play the role of a cop in Deva, also felt that he got to learn a lot from the action genre. He shares, “Action is tough. But every moment spent on the set has turned out to be a learning experience. Shooting action scenes can be fun, but stressful at the same time. It requires a lot of rehearsal. Every day, I learned where to look, so that the camera may capture the action scene from all the right angles. I am hoping that I become better at it as it is something I would love to explore further.”
