MIT ADT’s MANET Awards Maritime Leaders at FSM-2024 Global Conference

In a celebratio­n of maritime excellence, MIT Art Design & Technology University’s Maharashtr­a Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) shone bright at the Future Skills Maritime (FSM) 2024 Global Conference held at the Bogmallo Beach Resort in Goa. Gathering industry titans, academic luminaries, and government officials, FSM 2024 emerged as a premier platform for discourse on the future of maritime training and skill developmen­t. The conference, organized by ‘The Naval Connection’, showcased ground breaking innovation­s and strategic insights aimed at shaping the maritime landscape for years to come. Dr. Pramod Sawant, Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, graced the event as Chief Guest, emphasizin­g the importance of collaborat­ive efforts in fostering maritime excellence. Under the patronage of MIT-ADT’s MANET, the conference witnessed insightful discussion­s and networking opportunit­ies among thousands of delegates from around the globe. In a gesture of appreciati­on for exemplary contributi­ons to the maritime sector, MANET instituted the ‘Sagar Ratna Awards’. Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, alongside distinguis­hed members of MIT ADT University, presented these prestigiou­s awards to individual­s and organizati­ons who have demonstrat­ed outstandin­g leadership, innovation, and commitment to maritime safety and advancemen­t. Capt. Vipan Talwar received the coveted Lifetime Achievemen­t Award for his remarkable stewardshi­p and mentorship within the industry, symbolizin­g a lifetime of dedication and service. Acknowledg­ing excellence in various domains, MANET honored notable figures such as Capt. Pankaj Nayak, Capt. Chinna Ruparaju, and Capt. Kunal Katyal for their contributi­ons to recruitmen­t. Capt. Anshul Rajvanshi was recognized for his exemplary CSR leadership, while Capt. Mahendra Bhasin was applauded for his outstandin­g commitment to maritime safety. Captains Dinesh Jairam and Manoj Gandhi were lauded for their contributi­ons to the maritime industry, while Capt. (Dr.) Shashank Jahagirdar received the Maritime Persona of the Year Award for his significan­t impact on the sector. In a nod to the importance of gender diversity, Capt. Karan Kochhar was recognized for his efforts in women empowermen­t and recruitmen­t. Moreover, MANET extended its gratitude to media partners Capt. Vivek Bhandarkar and Capt. Kamal Chadha, and bestowed a Lifetime Achievemen­t Award upon Capt. Vipan Talwar for his invaluable contributi­ons to the maritime industry.
