The Magic Carpet Ride

-

In the first half of the 20th century, Sir Henry Royce famously urged his employees to strive for perfection in all that they did and to make the best that exists even better. In this spirit the Phantom Series II was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on 6th March, 2012. The Phantom’s striking new front-end, with re-styled bumpers and rectangular light apertures, encapsulates the essence of the significant changes that lie beneath. Rolls Royce is the first to include fully-led headlamps as standard on a production car, delivering a whiter light, augmenting safety and preventing driver fatigue. Curve light functionality uses electronically-controlled reflectors to focus headlamp beams in the direction of travel, providing greater illumination of the road ahead when turning corners. Drivers and passengers will feel improvements in a drive-train considered close to perfection by the Rolls-royce engineering team. Fuel consumption improves by 10 percent on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions fall from 388 to 347 g/km. Every part of the Phantom experience should be effortless, so new driver assistance technologies and a modern user interface with re-designed multi-media controller have been introduced. Moving with the times Rolls Royce reinforces its reputation as a brand that continues to offer its customers cutting-edge innovations and of course, one of the world’s smoothest rides.
