Air In the
ROCK STARS
In an age of health gurus and fad diets, we have all been told that pasta is not good for us. But here is a seat inspired by the forbidden nosh which is too good to pass. Italian designer Fabio Novembre revisited childhood memories of his grandmother’s handmade pasta to create these rocking chairs which are standouts with their simple yet original design. Fashioned by Novembre for the furniture label Driade, 36 h and 56 h were unveiled at the prestigious Salone del Mobile 2012. The outdoor chairs which have a throne- like quality with their high back and gently curved seat are made of aluminium and then covered with woven plastic. When asked about the unusual nomenclature, the designer said that it is a homage to the skilled yet nameless craftsmen who made the objects. Log on to www. driade. com for more.
