It probably houses the same designer names as several other stores in the city that sell kitsch products but the sheer energy and enthusiasm of the owner Pooja Mayee makes the experience of shopping here fantastic. “Chemical Locha”, she says, “is the chemical madness and adrenalin rush that takes place when you see something cool”. And the store ensures that you do feel that rush of blood to the head. There are ashtrays by Happily Unmarried, bottle stoppers by Mukul Goyal, funky biker keychains and bags by Mumbai- based brand Chumbak, The Big Bag Theory’s mouse pads, hip flasks with hippie prints and tote bags in attractive designs. You can also find clothes by Sheepstop, Wear Your Opinion’s tees with interesting dialogues from Hindi movies written on them, candles in shot glasses and ceramic bowls by Tarana. While the first kiosk opened in March at Amanora Mall, a larger space with more variety has just opened shop at Koregaon Park.
