Rainak Bazaar

-

Despite a plethora of plush malls dotting the Jalandhar cityscape nowadays, this cramped bazaar near Nakoddar Chawk remains one of the favourite hubs for the city’s shopaholics. The narrow bylanes of Rainak Bazaar are dotted with as many scooters, bicycles and rickshaws parked haphazardly, as they are with the kiosks selling colourful commodities. Offering an immense variety of goods, the market is known for its cosmetics, apparel, footwear, toys, kids’ stuff, kitchenware, plastic ware and eatables that are all available at throwaway prices. Besides this there are showrooms retailing wedding wear, authentic silver jewellery and a variety of traditional Punjabi pictures, brassware, silverware and handicraft items as well. Choose a Sunday to visit as the market offers a wider variety then. Having been around for almost as long as the city itself, this bazaar is a great place to get a whiff of the true essence of this ancient city. Where Rainak Bazaar, Jalandhar 161
