SEATS OF POWER

Congress has made itself irrelevant in Andhra but has gained in Karnataka

-

Andhra Pradesh

There is huge support for YSR Congress, whose gain is from Congress seats. The party may get 23- 27 seats if Lok Sabha polls were to be held now.

Gujarat

If Lok Sabha elections were to be held early, Congress would get only 6- 10 of the 26 seats while BJP could win 16- 20 seats.

Karnataka

Corruption charges and infighting among state BJP leaders seem to have paved the way for Congress resurgence. The survey shows a 9% swing against BJP.

Maharashtra

The bickering between Congress and ally NCP may affect UPA’s vote share. UPA is likely to get 20- 23 seats and NDA23- 28 if Lok Sabha polls were to be held early.

Rajasthan

Congress is likely to lose votes in 2014 Lok Sabha polls because of corruption charges. NDAcould get 10- 15 seats if polls were held today, while UPA could get 5- 10 seats.

Uttar Pradesh

SP could get 23- 27 seats, BSP 17- 21 seats. The swing towards BJP is likely because it’s an alternative to the Congress at the Centre and BSP and SP are not.
