A checklist on where to eat and what to shop for

Until now, Dario’s was best known as the all- vegetarian Italian restaurant in Koregaon Park that served a variety of antipastis, pizzas, handmade pastas and freshly baked breads under the watchful eye of owner- chef Dario Dezio. But now, meat lovers in town have reason to cheer. The iconic restaurant’s new outlet Dario’s Espresso has opened and this time around, there is a heavy dose of non- vegetarian fare on the menu. Standing bang in the centre of the East Block of the Amanora Town Centre shopping mall, the café is a place you can simply saunter into- since there are no doors!

The interiors are bathed in shades of blue and the furniture with round tables and dark wooden chairs exudes a casual touch rather than a fine dine feel. A piano stand- ing in the restaurant adds to the charm of the place. On the menu, Chef Dario has put soups, grills, risotto, pizzas and pastas with a generous range of chicken, tenderloin, tuna and prawns. The Pollo di Falco is recommended for chicken lovers. Also recommended are the Fritto Misto Del Mar, Spaghetti Carbonara and Fusilli Marinara. The pizzas are crunchy and match up to the original Dario’s fare. Being part of a mall, there are quick bites as well such as sandwiches, burgers and crepes. A meal here isn’t complete without the homemade desserts so wind up your meal with the airy cheesecake, fresh tarts or pies. Average meal for two Rs 1200 At East Block, Amanora Town Centre, Hadapsar - Kharadi Bypass Tel 67260431
