In times of economic trouble, Congress can’t seem to find an articulate defence for itself. On August 19, Raj Babbar— who will forever be remembered for his “Rs 12 meal in Mumbai” remark— introduced a new face at the Congress press briefing, Bhalchandra Mungekar, a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. Mungekar played a vital role in drafting provisions of MGNREGA and was rewarded with a nomination to Rajya Sabha in 2010. It’s payback time for him now. Unfortunately, his TV debut made him sound a lot like the comedian Kunal Vijaykar in full flow.
