Fashion icon’s art project

In an act of artistic benevolence, designer Ralph Lauren will be funding the restoration of one of Paris’ famed art institutions, École National Supérieure des Beaux- Arts. Most of the funds are “designated to restore the semicircular lecture theatre at the heart of the school with its 90- foot Raphael- esque mural by Paul Delaroche.” In a tribute to the two- year- old campaign to renovate the institution, he is slated to hold a catwalk show on the school grounds on October 8. Marking the designer’s first- ever European show, it will showcase the brand’s autumn/ winter 2013- 14 womenswear collection. The perfect meeting ground for fashion and art!
