1 KEEP MOVING

Be prepared to move from one situation to another, because in life it’s important to experience both the good and the bad. Be willing to learn and unlearn stuff. The trick is to see it as a cycle and start enjoying both the ups and the downs.

2 GIVE YOURSELF SOME CREDIT

Being a women doesn't mean you’ve always got to be self- sacrificing. It’s important to focus on your capabilities and your dreams. Remember your individuality is not defined by just being someone’s mother, wife or daughter.

3 BE CREATIVE

Allow yourself to be creative and trust your imagination. Innovation will teach you how to handle customers better.

4 LOVE WHAT YOU DO

It’s extremely essential to love what you do. Don’t work just for a pay cheque. I love my job; it’s both a choice and a necessity as I love every bit of the daily action at work.

5 THE CUSTOMER IS THE CENTRE OF GRAVITY

No matter how big or small a brand, it’s essential to never forget how to look at situations from the perspective of a consumer. If the decisions you take recognise the needs and wants of a buyer, it’s likely to work as a product.

6 DON’T PRETEND

It’s alright if you’re not a professional Wikipedia. You don’t have to always know everything. Ask questions and learn from colleagues and your boss. You’ll never earn respect if you’re always faking it.

7 LEARN TO FIND BALANCE

This is easier said than done but you will be content only if you are able to find some measure of happiness in your professional and personal life. Compromising on either front is not a good idea.

8 BE HUMAN

No matter how high you climb on the career ladder or how much money you earn, at the end of the day, you’re still a human being. Your basic needs still remain the same: Three meals a day, a loving family and friends and getting a good night’s sleep.

9 KEEP THE CHILD IN YOU ALIVE

Successful people have the ability to maintain a child- like energy and enthusiasm about every new project. Learn to recognise each new project for the opportunity it brings.

10 BE A TEAM PLAYER

You can drive your own career and choose your own set goals but don’t forget the value of getting along with a team. Your team is your life support and you cannot move ahead without them. Remember, a true leader is one who’s also a generous mentor.
