NO GOING FOR GOGOI

-

The Congress high command seems to have finally found a formula for a temporary truce between Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. For over a year, 32 MLAs loyal to Sarma have been demanding a change of guard in the state. Though Sonia Gandhi is reluctant to take any action against Gogoi, she has decided on the political future of Gogoi’s son Gaurav, who is planning to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Kaliabor. The party has decided not to field the Gogoi scion.
