In­dia’s top de­sign­ers share the in­spi­ra­tion be­hind their lat­est bri­dal col­lec­tions

The sea­son breathes ro­mance and de­sign­ers an­swer its call ev­ery year with new swirls and twirls. But long be­fore they can un­fold fab­ric or sew a stitch they must first put their vi­sion down on pa­per. We asked In­dia’s most em­i­nent cou­turi­ers to share their fan­tasy ensem­bles for the com­ing wed­ding sea­son.

Fash­ion has to gauge sub­tle shifts in taste and mod­esty with ra­zor sharp as­tute­ness. De­sign­ers this sea­son move to deeper hues and in­sist the mod­ern bride likes to play with sheer fab­rics rather than what’s staid and tra­di­tional. There has also been a greater shift to­wards royal mo­tifs to dress up gar­ments.
