A tall tail

Jeff Koons, sculptor par excellence, whose fabulously quirky creations are roaring hits with art house collectors, seems all set to break his own record. His Balloon Dog ( orange), the last of the five metallic dog pieces he sculpted, is set to fetch between $ 35$ 55 million, beating his own 33.6 million ‘ Tulips’ sculpture. The 12- foot tall stainless steel sculpture that replicates the taut look of a tied balloon is an abiding symbol of art history and has graced the rooftop of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Venice’s Grand Canal and the Versailles Palace.
