CINDERELLA IN MUMBAI
In between fighting India’s fancy for fair skin and asking women not to feel guilty, Nandita Das has found the time to experiment with an international role. Directed by Maria Ripoll, who is famous for making delightful Latin of lavoured films, the Spanish film will trace a poor, peasant girl’s rise to stardom in Bollywood. An all-woman crew will create this modern Cinderella story. The handsome prince, by the way, is rumoured to be Das’s husband, Subodh Maskara.
