Sound of Music
Shaped like an inflated balloon, Ark Nova is going to be the world’s first concert centre where form and function come together to play a changing role in traditional architecture design shapes. The brainchild of British sculptor Anish Kapoor and Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, the mobile structure was recently made public in the coastal town of Matsushima in Japan, which is still coming to terms with the natural disaster of 2011. It recently hosted the Lucerne Festival of music and has the capacity to accommodate about 700 people. The hall with its luminiscent walls has interiors fitted with handcrafted benches and even a stage for performances.
