SACHIN TAKES GUARD
Sachin Pilot, 36, who took over as the Pradesh Congress Committee chief of Rajasthan in January, is slowly building his base. He has been travelling across the state to meet disgruntled workers and address their concerns. On February 20, he led a march protesting against the state BJP government’s declaration that it will scrap the Jaipur Metro and Barmer Refinery projects. Pilot insists his protest bore fruit—Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced later that she would provide Rs 888 crore for both projects. It remains to be seen whether he gets similar cooperation from former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who is sulking after being sidelined by the Congress.
