With elections around the corner, India binged on 13 episodes of Netflix’s political drama HouseofCards last week, that has Sakina Jaffrey, Broadway star and daughter of Madhur Jaffrey, queen of Indian haute cuisine, playing Linda Vasquez. Vasquez is the Latina chief of staff in the White House. The 52-year-old mother of two took “tutorials” from husband Francis Wilkinson, a political correspondent with RollingStone, for the show.“I needed him to explain it to me so I could do my scenes,” says Sakina.
